So, now that we have a reciprocating floor design that works with the timbers we have, it was time to start developing possible rooflines. This video shows the myriad configurations that we worked through, all sitting on what would be a 1400 square foot footprint. This floorplan would have a kitchen/dining/living “wing”, and a master bedroom “wing”, and this would all sit on a walkout basement for a total square footage of approximately 2800 square feet.
The final roof, though larger and with a few variations, was captured in this video 6 months before the final design was approved.
Some of the variable we played with were roof pitches, how water drained from the roof, complexity of the woodworking, material costs and needs, loft or not, and, of course, aesthetic appeal.

That is some sick shit!!!!
Clearly the Hollander’s showed you which design was best…
Like a beacon in the dark, Steve!
